With the acceleration of globalization, developing an international perspective and understanding the cultural, historical and economic development of other parts of the world has a profound impact on students' personal and professional growth. Anqing Foreign Language School has always been committed to cultivating international talents so that students can adapt to the challenges and opportunities of globalization. Recently, Anqing Foreign Language School has actively carried out a number of international exchange activities to explore more opportunities for the development of students.
In the first place, on the afternoon of June 25th, Mr. Gary Van Den Elsen, Director of the International Department of Haileybury School, Australia, visited our school. Initially, Director Gary had an in-depth discussion and exchange with Anqing Foreign Language School's President Madam Huang Wenli and Director Wang Yinchai of the International Department of our school on senior high school education in Australia. Also, he introduced Haileybury School's hundred-year history and brilliant achievements in details, sharing Australia's advanced educational concepts and teaching experience. In addition, Director Gary communicated with our teachers to broaden their educational horizons and boost their teaching concepts. Therefore, this visit has not only deepened the friendship between the two schools, but also provided a significant opportunity for both sides to deepen cooperation and seek common development.
In the second place, in order to help Anqing City's senior high school students to broaden the green channel, our school cooperates with three liberal arts colleges of the American University Alliance to provide TOEFL free and SAT free direct admission to American universities for students who take the College Entrance Examination, with generous scholarships in the meantime. Consequently, students will arrive in the United States at the end of August this year to enter the world-renowned Columbia University (ranked 12th in the United States) and Washington University in St. Louis (ranked 24th in the United States). Besides, the program is conducted through the recommendation of the principal, the written test and the interview in the United States. More remarkably, students can apply to American universities at the same time as their domestic university application.
In the third place, on the afternoon of 27th June, the United States university application program information meeting was held as scheduled. The presentation was presided over by Principal Assistant Xu Zuitai, in charge of the Senior High School Division. Also in attendance is Anqing Foreign Language School's President Madam Huang Wenli. Furthermore, special guests Ben Iverson, Vice President of Concordia College, and Ms. Jiani Jiang, Assistant Professor of Business School, gave a detailed introduction to Concordia College. Meanwhile, Yin Huiping, a senior expert in study abroad planning and guidance, and Wang Yinchai, Director of the International Department of Anqing Foreign Language School, answered parents' questions.
In the fourth place, Ben Iverson, Vice President of Concordia College in the United States, introduced himself and elaborated on the situation of Concordia College, and also shared his 25 years of experience in the field of international education, hoping that more students would join Concordia College.
In the fifth place, Professor Jiang conducted a comprehensive introduction to Concordia College in terms of teaching philosophy, admission requirements, school activities, graduate employment, and school safety management.
In the sixth place, after the briefing, parents and students had a more detailed communication and exchange with school leaders and teachers on the issues they were concerned about.
In conclusion, although the inter-school exchange activities were short, they yielded fruitful results, which not only enhanced the close cooperation between Anqing Foreign Language School and international colleges, but also strengthened students' cross-cultural communication and language expression skills, thus demonstrating the diversified international educational philosophy of Anqing Foreign Language School.
